OUR STORY
We are from Lezo, Aklan, residing in Texas. We are the creators of Aklanons.com. We established the website on December 8, 2022, with a crazy idea: to reconnect with family, relatives, and friends once again without using any existing social media platforms and create one ourselves. Yet here we are, extending our reach to Aklanons, our families, and friends, to our community in Aklan. After years of development and research, we believe, we must make this tool available to Aklanons. We initially opened our site to just a few people for testing purposes. Now, we are building our own mobile applications for Android and Apple devices. We believe we can independently create our platform and not rely on the big companies that dominated many of us.
Like you, we love to connect with family. We aim to connect you to our beloved home province of Aklan and Aklanons worldwide. We have much to do, but we can’t do this alone; you can help us improve tremendously by connecting to family and friends no matter where they are!

Since many Aklanons are overseas and some own businesses, we want to welcome Aklanons to post or find jobs through Aklanons.com

Yes. As long as you can connect with your friend or friends. Activities conducted on this site are most likely centered on Aklanons and its community. We’d love to have you and your friend join us.Â
I'm not Aklanon, but I'm a family of Aklanon. Can I join?
Yes. You are family. We welcome the family and relatives of Aklanons.
I am a company, owner, or representing a company who employs Aklanons. Can I join?
Yes, you may. Anyone who serves Aklanons and the community of Aklan can join. We appreciate your service and for providing a living to Aklanons.
I am Aklanon, but I have not been to Aklan. Can I join?
Yes, you should! One main reason why we created Aklanons.com is to serve others who have yet to be home to Aklan. All Aklanon families are welcome, so we encourage you to join even if you were born outside of Aklan. We hope you will enjoy interacting with us and learning a little “Akeanon,” too!

You can definitely learn about us, about Aklan, and Aklanons in general. But, the Not-Aklanon profile will have limited capability.

LEARNING, JOBS, & GAMIFICATION
We would like to find volunteer teachers, freelancers, and content creators to grow our course offerings. We've mentioned, we may implement monetization for your work. Additionally, we would like to grow the "jobs list" in our database. Lastly, we want to integrate appropriate gamification features in the future.

We are progressing on our applications for Aklanons.com and continuing our research on the implementation and user base. Maintaining an application is expensive, but we are committed to helping advance our community for the future.
Artificial intelligence
We previously implemented this feature, but we will work on implementing this new technology in the near future as it improves over time. We've tested it, but it is not as good in "Akeanon" yet. However, we have requested ChatGPT to improve the AI's "Akeanon" dialect.
